How to Save an Article as a PDF

In this article, you'll learn how to use the browser's print function to save a support article as a PDF.  The advantage of using the print option is that the article will be formatted with only the article's content and images.  Please note there are separate steps for saving a PDF on an iOS mobile device.

Saving a PDF on a non-iOS Mobile Device

Use the following steps to save an article as a PDF on a non-iOS mobile device:

1. When viewing an article, click the Print option in the righthand sidebar

Please note that the Print option will be at the bottom of the article when the browser window is narrow or when viewing on a mobile device.

After clicking Print, a print preview dialog is displayed.

2. Change the Destination to Save as PDF

To change the Destination as Save to PDF, click on the Destination options and select Save to PDF.

When the Destination is set to Save as PDF, it will appear as follows.

3. Click the Save button in the lower left of the preview window

4. Select the location on your device where you'd like the PDF saved

Select the location on your device where you would like the PDF saved and click the Save button.

The PDF is saved in the selected location.

Saving a PDF on an iOS Mobile Device

Use the following steps to save an article as a PDF on an iOS mobile device:

1. When viewing an article, click the Print option at the bottom of the article

Please note that the Print option will be in the righthand sidebar of the article on iPads when viewed in landscape mode.

After clicking Print, the print options dialog is displayed.

2. Use the Share Option to Save

Click the share option in the upper left of the dialog.

3. Click Save to Files from the Share Options

4. Select the location on your device where you'd like the file saved

Select the location on your device where you would like the file saved and click the Save.

The file is saved in the selected location.
